Kristin Bethge (*1988, Germany) is an artist who has been living between Rio de Janeiro and Berlin since 2014. Bethge’s work and artistic practice are closely tied to her life in the Global South - in particular, in addition to Brazil - to her extended stays in Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Cape Verde.
The medium of photography allows Bethge to weave together personal experiences, historical contexts, and affective layers through a sensitive visual narrative, attentive to detail and to subtle interactions between nature, culture, and human presence.
In 2024, Bethge exhibited her photographic work as part of the C/O Berlin exhibition Berlin Views. Kristin Bethge studied Visual Communication and Arts in Mainz, Germany and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
